Do you have parents who want to better support a child or teenager at your school who is struggling with emotions, behaviour, school-avoidance, self-harm or mental health?

We’ve developed a pack of free resources that you can share with parents.

You may want to give them to specific parents, but we also recommend that you share it in an email, newsletter or on the school’s social media so it’s seen by parents of all year groups, as instances of pupil mental health go unreported or are experienced by other siblings. We recommend sharing the resources at least once a year, as pupils can start to struggle at any time. You’re also welcome to put these resources on your school’s website.

The School Support Pack includes:

Peer Support

Having someone who’s going through a similar struggle by your side can make all the difference. Peer support provides a unique understanding and encouragement that helps us overcome our challenges.

The cost is £400 per parent/carer joining the Power2Parent programme.
The full cost of participating can be covered by Early Help funding for eligible families.

Note: Families can access Early Help funding through if they meet certain criteria, such as experiencing difficulties that impact their child’s well-being or development. This funding ensures that all families, regardless of financial situation, can benefit from the support provided by the Power2Parent groups.

Feel free to email schoolsupport@youthmentalhealthfoundation.org for more information on accessing Early Help funding.
