Self Harm – Parents Facebook Group

We understand just how challenging it is supporting a child or teen struggling with mental health and self-harm. That’s why we run the ‘Self Harm – Parents’ Facebook Group—a safe and supportive space exclusively for parents and carers like you.

How this group can support you

In our private group, which has over 2500 members from around the globe, you’ll find a community of parents who share similar experiences and understand the unique journey you’re on. It’s a place where you can freely share your questions, anxieties, and worries, knowing that you’ll receive feedback and support from others who have been there.

Our group isn’t just about sharing struggles—it’s also about celebrating victories and progress. Parents post stories of improvement in their children as they follow our programmes, offering hope and inspiration to others facing similar challenges.

Claire Sutton, co-founder of the Youth Mental Health Foundation, is a frequent contributor to the group, posting thoughts, advice, encouragement, and guidance to our members. Her insights, guidance and experience of helping thousands of parents are uniquely valuable..

We’re planning on inviting other mental health professionals to also provide guidance, advice, and valuable insights through guest posts and comments, enriching the discussions and providing additional support to our members.

But it doesn’t stop there. We believe in listening to our community and tailoring our support resources to meet their needs. That’s why we frequently poll our members to understand what additional resources they require. Using their feedback, we create and pilot new support materials designed to address their specific challenges and concerns.

Join us in the Self Harm – Parents Facebook Group and become part of a supportive community dedicated to helping each other navigate the complexities of supporting children and young people struggling with mental health and self-harm.
